After having a baby in December, I wanted to shift the extra weight I gained during pregnancy but needed a diet and exercise plan I could realistically stick to with a new baby and while breastfeeding.

Working with Matt made this possible and really enjoyable too. I strengthened and toned at the gym and used his nutritional expertise to completely change my diet helping me to lose all the weight I had gained during pregnancy.

After only a couple of sessions I started to see a difference and feel myself again. I even managed to squeeze into my pre pregnancy jeans! This gave me a real confidence boost and the motivation I needed to get back into shape for the summer.

With a busy work timetable and a 24 hour shift pattern, I found training for the London Marathon impossible. With 5 weeks to go, a maximum of being able to run 4 miles and no definitive training ahead of me, I called upon Matt to help me turn my feelings around that maybe the finishing line could still be achievable. After assessing me and teaching me exercises to build strength in my legs and hips, I found I was able to carry myself that bit further week by week. It excited me that my goal of just passing the finishing line of the 26.2 mile course maybe now was obtainable. Within five weeks Matt had doubled my running ability, and then on the day I was able to run to the 13.1 mile halfway mark without stopping, and then fast walk the rest achieving a time of 6 hrs 4 mins. Thanks to Matt I met my goal to lose 5kg & I’m the most toned I’ve ever been. Before I started personal training I was doing long cardio workouts in the gym, but this wasn’t enough to stop me gaining weight. I have always been active so when I injured my lower back during training I was devastated. Matt told me he could help me with my recovery so after thinking about Matts offer I decided to give it a try as all the practitioners I had seen previously had not been able to help. I have been going to the gym for quite a number of years and I have always been fairly happy with my training, fitness levels and body shape apart from my legs they’ve always been the wrong size for the rest of my body and I’ve never been able to change their shape regardless of my training efforts.

I used to do three 40 minutes cardio sessions a week and use some weight training but wasn’t really seeing the result I should have for that kind of effort so I decided to sign up for a personal trainer at the gym and that’s when I met Matt.  We started training for three 1 hour sessions a week and within four weeks I had lost inches all over but more importantly my legs had changed shape losing the chunky thighs was brilliant, no longer a pear shape, my body fat also went down by a considerable amount which is great. I was a very happy lady. The sessions were always varied, exercises and techniques changed making it more enjoyable and not so much of a task and Matt is also good at motivating you without making you feel like you are training for a marathon.  I looked forward to our sessions and we had a laugh too, Matt’s approach is extremely professional and his knowledge of human physiology and training techniques are first class.

I never thought a personal trainer would be for me but as it turns out it was money well spent!!

I considered my level of training and nutrition knowledge to be pretty ok, so when I hit a serious Plateau I went to Matt for a proper dietary arse-kicking along with some new and inspiring workout routines. Seeing Matt once a month and using his programmes in between his PT sessions, I was able to lower my body fat in 12 weeks, where previously I had made no progress in that area for years. I also increased my strength and was able to hold my body weight for a lot longer and my core became a lot stronger which has eliminated backaches which I was plagued with for years!

I trained with Matt over the summer before my holiday to Ibiza. I wanted to tone up and lose weight to get a healthy looking beach body! Matt was able to provide us with training, a diet plan & weekly measurements. The diet plan seemed a struggle at first but Matt was there every step of the way to encourage and help us by keeping regular contact & after just 4 weeks. I had lost 7cm around my waist and 5cm off my hips!! Matt’s workouts were fun yet intense, but what was great was that I had a new workout every day! I trained in dance for many years before becoming a teacher & when teaching my training went on the back burner. After a while I wanted to get more toned and feel more energetic to enhance my career & to feel good for my upcoming wedding

My gym routine was the same for nearly 10 years, it would take me about 2 hours to do the lot  and I guess doing the same thing for so long wasn’t really making much of a difference to me body, hence the big slump in my routine. Then Matt came along and has introduced a whole new way to training using weights and intervals which I never would have considered before, ( I was under the impression only hours of cardio would do & weights would make me look like a drag queen). When I first started training with Matt I was completely clueless! Having never been to a gym before or really been a fan of exercise I was very apprehensive. Matt introduced me to a whole new way of thinking in terms of diet and exercise and I found it really helpful.

Having trained for years and previously been a personal trainer myself I had got to a point where it was hard to lose weight and body fat.
